VCE VET Dance at Jason Coleman’s
Ministry of Dance

Course Objective

The objective of VCE VET Dance is for school age students to complete a vocational qualification in dance to enhance their knowledge of technique, theory and performance. Students will learn through hands on practical studies devised and delivered by Jason Coleman’s Ministry of Dance in a unique way that gives you the very best of MOD opportunities!

Who is eligible for VCE VET Dance?

VCE VET dance is primarily designed for year 10, 11 and 12 students and previous dance training is recommended. All applicants must complete the application form followed by an interview with the Director of Education at Jason Coleman’s Ministry of Dance.

Students are not required to be a part of Jason Coleman’s Ministry of Dance Junior School to be eligible for this program and external students are highly encouraged to sustain their existing dance training at their local dance school to achieve maximum results and progression of their dance studies.

Through our existing partnership programs, Jason Coleman’s Ministry of Dance invites all present and previous Wakakirri and State School Spectacular performers to apply!

VCE VET Dance ATAR Score contribution

One of the most wonderful things about VCE VET Dance is that it is one few vocational qualifications that can contribute to your personal Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR Score). This means that if dance and performance is your passion your results from this program can contribute to your overall ATAR score at school – making the jump towards tertiary training one step closer!

Course Structure

We have revolutionised VCE VET Dance through the combination of weekly classes, productions and dance festivals. Here you get to complete 3 hours of study one evening per week at Jason Coleman’s Ministry of Dance. Weekly classes will be a combination of practical and theoretical study. During school holiday seasons we invite you in to participate in our renowned dance festival programs. This means that you will be training from 10.00am – 4.00pm for three consecutive days in our Spring Festival and for 5 consecutive days in our Summer Festival! We are fortunate enough that students attending our festivals travel from all over Australia and New Zealand to attend so there is no doubt you will make lasting friendships in this program too. And remember this all contributes to your ATAR score!
