Sophie Carter

Sophie has just finished up two and a half years on Priscilla Queen of The Desert The Musical, where she played the role of a Diva since it's world premiere in 2006. Sophie, along with the other two Divas, where awarded the 2007 Green Room Award for Best Featured Ensemble.

 

Prior to Priscilla, Sophie completed a Bachelor of Arts (Music Theatre) at WAAPA and in 2004 made her professional debut as Soupy Sue in Urinetown for Melbourne Theatre Company.

 

Other theatre credits include Soupy Sue and Little Sally in Urinetown for Sydney Theatre Company, Jan in Grease - The Arena Spectacular (SEL/GFO) and High Society (The Production Company).

 

Sophie has also participated in many recent workshops of new Australian works including The Hatpin (James Millar/Pete Rutherford) , Shane Warne The Musical (Eddie Perfect) and Sing on Through Tomorrow (Matt Robinson).

 

Television credits include Dancing With The Stars, The Footy Show, 9am with David and Kim, The Morning Show, Mornings with Kerri-Anne and GMA with Bert Newton. Other performances include Kookaburra's Up Close and Musical, Hats Off, The Helpmann Awards, Light the Night, Australia Day Live, Showqueen and 2007 AFI Awards.
