Each year we award a number of scholarships. Open to 1st year students are:

 

- 1st Year Female Scholarship of Excellence
- 1st Year Male Scholarship of Excellence

 

Applicants that chose to apply for a scholarship must attend one of the main audition dates at Jason Coleman’s Ministry of Dance to be considered. Scholarship winners are not selected from just one audition. The CEO and Director, along with the panel on the audition day, will start considering auditionees for a scholarship during the audition. Those who are successful of being considered for a scholarship will firstly be notified via phone by the Director of the Course and of the Ministry a week after the audition. They will then receive an email and letter via post explaining that they have made the first round of the scholarship auditions. In the meantime, all scholarship auditionees are required to pay their $1000.00 deposit to secure their place in the course. Should they receive a scholarship, then their deposit will be refunded in full. Scholarship auditionees are also required to choreograph a 1.5 minute routine in their best style to show at the second audition, amongst other things. The second round of scholarship auditionees will take place around one month after the main audition date. The CEO and Director will decide the female and male talent scholar during this audition. The male and female talent scholarship winners will be notified within 2 weeks of their audition.

 

Please note:

1. A decision on scholarship winners will not be made until all audition dates are completed. The scholarships are awarded based on talent, level of commitment, dedication, and aptitude only.

 
2. Scholarships are only valid for one year with an option to continue into the 2nd year (this is at the Director’s discretion). Scholarship students MUST re-audition in 2012 for another scholarship for 2013.

 

2nd year students have a unique opportunity to apply for further training scholarships that support students in other areas including teaching and administration work. This is a wonderful and truly unique opportunity for our students, providing mentoring, hands on industry experience and placements.
