Term 1
Term 1 Focuses heavily on technique. Students are supported through a grueling term of body conditioning, core strength training and focused genre studies. Jason Coleman’s Ministry of Dance Full Time Course provides the best tutors in Australia to teach in each genre and it is the knowledge, strength and experience of these tutors that helps to set such a high standard in dance training.
Throughout term 1 teachers will be highly focused on getting to know the individual dancers, understanding their strengths and weaknesses and supporting them through a term of development, extension, technique and the learning of new skills. It is during this term that management play a pivotal role in setting standards and expectations for all students.
All students study dance styles including Jazz, Hip Hop, Broadway, Contemporary, Tap, Ballet, Drama, Singing, Choreography, Performance and Musical Theatre. There are 4-5 set classes a day. Each week a guest teacher is scheduled to teach a musical theatre class and open workshop. These invited industry professionals will teach a one off, or a series of classes, whilst on break from their performance commitments. This is a very exciting part of the course and will benefit students greatly.
For selected classes students will be placed in a technique level that is appropriate for all genres. This placement of students is the decision of the Course Director and is in place to maximise each individual student’s learning. This contributes greatly to the development of individuals.

Term 4
This is the final term to polish and prepare for the transition into your professional career. Students will attend technique classes and rehearsals producing their showcase end of year concert.
We encourage students to start thinking about their options for next year and to implement their first year budget, audition preparations and action plan. Students are encouraged to take advantage of the support available from all staff and management to help them on their way.
