
Arna Singleton aka Robotgirl is a hip hop dancer, performer and an urban style choreographer whose career spans over a decade. Director and choreographer of her own all-girl dance crew, Hollabak, she has led her crew to successful 1st placing for the Melbourne heats for Australian Hip Hop Championship and Groove dance competition. Hollabak has performed at Battlegrounds, Short + Sweet dance festival, Australian Dance Festival (Sydney), Tic Tic Tour, Melbourne Music Week, Carnival (Sydney), Push Over, Our Backyard, various festivals and on stage at Federation Square New Year's Eve 2011 celebration performing to over 7,000 people.
Arna's recent credits include head choreographer for 'Fame - the Ultimate High School Musical' FOX8 TV commercial and a featured dancer for Jay Jay's 3D dance in store and online campaign. Her other appearances include, Lipton Tea 2010 nationwide TV commercial, The Today Show (Ch. 9), The 7pm Project (Ch. 10), Good Friday Appeal Variety Concert (Ch. 7), Australia's Got Talent, Big Day Out and music video clips, Double Dutch - CC Martini and Shouldn't Let Him Out - Polo Club. Arna was also a Top 100 dancer for So You Think You Can Dance, seasons 1 & 2 (Ch. 10) and represented Australia at the world class 'Body Rock' competition in San Diego (USA) in 2009. She has trained with hip hop dance pioneers Suga Pop (Electric Boogaloos/Rock Steady Crew), Mr Wiggles (Electric Boogaloos/Rock Steady Crew), Poppin' Pete(Electric Boogaloos), Greg Campellock Jnr (The Lockers), Shabba Doo (The Lockers, Breakdance - the movie) and Buddha Stretch (MopTop/Elite Force Crew).
Additional to the dance, Arna is a key figure in the hip hop dance community as an event organiser and advocator for the scene. Through her event work she has successfully run the hip hop extravaganza at the Arts Centre known as Our Backyard for 5 successive years, Step Off! (an urban dance crew competition) for 6 years, Push It! Hip Hop Arena at Push Over Festival for 8 years and multiple programs providing young people with free access to gain further opportunities to perform, produce music, gain skill development and professional exposure to become the next generation of hip hop artists.
