Adrian Dimitrievitch

Adrian studied ballet under George Balanchine, Alexander Minz, Alexander Godunov, Vakhtang Chaboukiani & Yura and Roberto Dimitrievitch.

 

He worked as a Principal Dancer in Argentina, throughout Europe and Australia. He was a guest Ballet Master at the Berlin Ballet (Deutchsche Oper, Berlin) as well as Ballet Master & Assisstant Director to Meryl Tankard (in Canberra) & Meryl Tankard Australian Dance Theatre (in Adelaide). Adrian was a guest teacher for the Sydney Dance Company and Australian Ballet.

 

When directing the Australian Chamber Ballet, Adrian Collaborated with members of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. The Australian Chamber Ballet combined chamber music, modern composers, folklore, stories and physical theatre to create projects. At the National Institute of Circus Arts he created work combining the disciplines of classical ballet, folklore, Tanz theatre and circus arts.

 

Adrian has worked in the performing arts for 44 years, travelling the world, and learning many different disciplines, cultures and languages on the way. These have informed his desire and ability to create works that are driven by strong story lines.
